Dave Gleeson is a vocalist for Australian Rock band Screaming Jets... Dave Gleeson’s musical influences include: AC/DC, Kiss, Neil Young, The Sex Pistols, The Doors and The Angels. Dave Gleeson and Grant Walmsley met at a Marist Brother High School and formed a band in 1985, Aspect (formerly Sudden Impact). In 1989 the Screaming Jets (The Jets) was formed by adding Paul Woseen, Brad Heaney, Richard Lara, Craig Rosevear, Jimi 'The Human' Hocking, Izzy Osmanovich, Col Hatchman and Mickl Sayers. The Jets were influenced by Australian bands such as AC/DC, The Angels and Rose Tattoo.
In 1989 the Screaming Jets won the Triple J national Battle of the Bands. During the middle of the 1990’s the Screaming Jets signed a recording contract with Chris Murphy of Roo Art. Screaming Jets made their debut album All For One in 1991, the single Better charted on The National Australian charts within the top ten along with Stop the World and Shine On. The Jets were based in the United Kingdom for two years following All For Ones release and toured across the UK, Europe and the United States of America. The Screaming Jets are known as one of Australia's best touring bands, both overseas and in Australia.
In 1992 the album Tears of Thought was released, a cover of Boys Next Door's 'Shivers' saw the Screaming Jets back in the charts.
In 1995 The Jets self-titled album was launched via live webcast. Their entire release history includes: five platinum and five gold albums and three platinum and three gold singles. The band made a high profile tour across Australia in 2000, including the inaugural Brisbane to Sydney flight for Impulse Airlines.
In 2001 the Screaming Jets toured Australia with KISS and Alice Cooper.
In 2002 they did a short tour for a self titled live album and in 2004 toured again.
In 2006 David Gleeson appeared as a singing coach for actress Kate Fischer in the Australian television program It Takes Two. He again appeared with TV host Julia Zemiroand in 2007. Toured the band Tug with Rockin’ Rob Riley, Paul Woseen and Steve 'Mac' McLennan.
When The Jets are not touring Dave Gleeson works in numerous music related programming including: DJ on Triple M’s National Network, Channel 9 NRL Footy Show and starred in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Dave recorded and released a solo album Wanted Man, which showcased in 2003 at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The Screaming Jets have recorded a seventh studio album with publishing through Universal. The Jets songs Helping Hand, Eve of Destruction and Shivers were featured in the Triple M Essential 2006 Countdown.
